Flow connectors are added all the time. Therefore, unlike other Microsoft Applications, Flow breeds integration.
Microsoft has been trying to create a more intuitive software solution, focusing heavily on human interaction and the Common Data Service for Apps. This means there will be more flexibility in defining a set of stages and steps for people to follow. Unlike past workflows, you will now be able to move forwards and backward as needed. In addition to this, Flow creator can define any number of inputs that are required for each stage. Data can be collected and stored on a CDS. Therefore, you can build other processes and applications on the data you’ve collected.
With the new Flow updates there is also the promise that there will be a newer more intuitive approval feature on CDS. Which will allow you to build flows that trigger on the status of the approvals you send or receive through Flow.
Integration with current business focused applications
Microsoft Flow has some exciting new integrations with current Microsoft applications. Our top three picks are below.
Microsoft Excel
Firstly, one of the more interesting updates we are excited about is the ability to automate solutions inside of Excel. This means you will no longer need to learn Visual Basic and Excel in order to automate within Excel. Create and trigger automation the automation of tasks with Flow. Automation will increase your work efficiency for tasks such as data processing, copying or importing data etc.
SharePoint
Create Flows that work SharePoint Online lists (or Libraries). Everyone that has access to the site, will have access to these Flows. So there's no need to replicate the flow for each member within the SharePoint Site. As membership of the list or library changes, users are automatically given access to the flow.
Microsoft Teams
Due to Microsoft Teams increasing popularity, Microsoft Flow has introduced a new Flow tab within Teams. Within the Flow tab you will be able to pin and run flows for you and your team. It will also allow you to edit your team’s flows from inside the Microsoft Teams application. Increasingly, business users live and breathe inside Microsoft Teams. The Flow bot will also be available within teams so you can name a flow and it will automatically run any process you want.
